I'd like to give a shout out to Jen Schaben (age 23).
Jen has gone from first jump student to a member of the Army Golden Knights Parachute Team in just 18 months. (Dave, there's a chance you might remember her as I introduced you to her at the Dubuque Boogie in October of 2007).
Her first claim to fame was getting away from both of her AFF instructors on her first AFF jump and had to pull on her own. That video can be seen on my website at www.manifestmaster.com/video/ (look for "AFF Student loses instructors").
That jump didn't slow her down a bit. She graduated AFF and cranked out about 80 jumps that year before being deployed to Iraq in the fall of 2007. She returned from Iraq in the spring of 2008 and immediately started jumping her ass off, cranking out something like 300 jumps in 5 months at midwest dz's like Vinton (Iowa), Brooklyn, Skydive Chicago, Chicagoland Skydiving in Hinkley, The Redemption Boogie (ever heard of that one?) , Summerfest, and of course Couch Freaks. She also spent 3 hours in the Skyventure tunnel in Colorado.
Right after Couch Freaks 2008 she left for the Golden Knights tryout camp where she cranked out another 150 jumps or so and promptly made the team. She recently moved to Ft Bragg and is currently training with the Knights in Yuma Arizona.
So Jen, make us proud. And remember, no matter where you are and who you're jumping with, you're still a "Yo Mama".
